By now, hopefully you have all read our newsletter and have seen what we will be learning about this half term. You should have also received a Mosque visit letter. Please can these be returned to school as soon as possible?

Geography

We began our new topic by looking at maps. Can you identify the continents and the oceans? We looked at places that are near to Farsley and those that are further away.

PSHE

Over the past few weeks we have been learning about medicines. This week we finished the topic by thinking about keeping safe with medicines. Can you remember any of the safety rules?

English- Tinga Tinga Tales!

The children have enjoyed watching the Tinga Tinga Tales stories in class this week: How The Snake Lost His Legs, How Monkeys Came To Swing in the Trees and How Elephant got his Trunk. We have written reviews, descriptions of animals and have sequenced a story, ready for planning and writing our own next week. Have you got any ideas yet?

Maths

We have been solving fractions word problems, looking at the equivalence of 1/2 and 2/4 and writing fractions sentences to match pictures.

How many fractions sentences can you write to match the picture below?

Art

We have started our Tinga Tinga Art. We can’t wait to see the finished pieces!

And finally… We are celebrating World Book Day next Friday. Have you got your favourite book and PJs ready?

    We have been practising fractions.

    1/4 of 12 = 3. 1/4 of the stars are purple.
    3/4 of 12 = 9. 3/4 of the stars are yellow.

    I really enjoyed helping with the library visit the children were all very well behaved.
