This week in 2F.

Saturday 21st June | 1 comment

Another awesome week in 2F!

In Literacy, we have continued our work based on the exciting online adventure, ‘Foul Play:Brazil.’ Scroll below to see the work we did on using speech, prediction and writing book reviews. It’s not long now until our reading breakfast on June 30th, when Tom Palmer is coming to join us!

In Maths we have been practising our times tables and discovering the patterns in them. Ask your child which times tables this pattern shows. Can they tell you about some other multiplication circles? What happens if you plot the answers to the 2,5,and 10x tables?

Our Arcade Games are just about finished, you can see them below too.

Above are our Special Mentions of the week. They achieved their ‘Be the best you can be’ awards for creating this brilliant game together. Excellent collaborative work; thinking, negotiating and problem solving.

Below is our first 2nd GOLD MATHLETICS CERTIFICATE for Year 2 2014. To achieve this you need to have gained 40 Bronze Certificates! This shows lots of practise, every week since September. The second certificate and the Mathletics Trophy is for Mathlete of the Week, with a brilliant score of over 6,000.

It is the School Camp Event today and it looks like the sun will shine! I hope to see lots of you there; I shall be making loom bands (with repeated patterns or symmetrical patterns!) and blowing some brilliant big bubbles. Mrs Lambert will be with me, with the badge making machine ….. come and get creative and join the fun! 🙂

Eva is really enjoying Tom Palmer’s story and is really looking forward to the breakfast reading session…so much so, that we arrived a week early! Hope you are enjoying the World Cup 2F?
…Whose teams are still there? Which team are you cheering for now that England have sadly left the tournament? (I’m cheering on Holland and Eva’s hoping her team Ghana win tomorrow against Portugal!)

Did you go to the School Fun Day on Saturday? We all had a great time…Eva loved making the big bubbles (we will try and recreate at home!).
