2La’s visit to Thackray Medical Museum

Friday 14th October | 3 comments

We had a wonderful time yesterday, learning all about Florence Nightingale. We sorted objects into if we thought they belonged in the hospitals before or after Florence had arrived. We didn’t like some of the smells in the dirty hospitals! We also enjoyed looking at the timeline and placing events during Florence’s lifetime and looking at some of the events that happened after she died. We had a great time dressing up as nurses and porters, acting out Florence’s journey to Scutari and working in the hospital.

Lovely photos! The children all look really engaged, it was clearly a really interesting trip. Lucy assures me it’s not real blood on those bandages..
