What a busy week we have had.
You will have seen our previous posts this week about our amazing trip to the Toby Carvery, our Science and our Literacy and ICT work about Healthy eating, but you will amazed to know how much more we have done too!
In Maths we have been applying are addition skills to buying several healthy items and then also using our subtraction skills to help us find change from 20p and 50p. We enjoyed playing Mr Toffee’s Sweet Shop game to help us recap and practise while we were having our milk and fruit. Ask your child to show you the game by clicking on the image below.
Next week in Literacy we are going to use our instruction writing skills to help us to write instructions about how we add and subtract to help us show our parents the strategies we use.
This week in Special Mention, Charlie played the piano for everyone. You can listen to how beautifully she played in the video below. It is lovely that so many of the children are learning different instruments, both at school and at home. If your child has a talent they would like to share with us, please just speak to their teacher.
This week’s special mentions went to Elizabeth for her work on instructions and to Yusuf, for following instructions so well in PE. Both children received a ‘Great Learner’ certificate. Phoebe was ‘Mathlete of the Week’ with an amazing score of over 10,000 points. Well done to you all.
Next week we have Parents Evening on Tuesday and Wednesday. I am really looking forward to speaking to everyone’s parents and sharing the children’s wonderful work and progress with you.
Due to Parents evening there will be no Mathletics Club on Tuesday evening for Year 2 or Year 3.
Children who play in the Friday Sing and Strum group need to bring their ukuleles into school on Thursday as we are playing in a very special assembly. This club will take place on Friday after school as usual too. Link to the ‘Sing and Strum’ page for the song to practise ready for our performance!
