Buzzing about Learning in Year 2!

This week we have started our mini topic on bees.

In English lessons we have started to make our own non-fiction books. So far we have designed our front covers, written an introduction, learned about the life cycle of a bee and labelled a bee. Today we had an amazing talk from Farfield’s beekeepers, Mrs Gilhooley and Mrs Laurie. The children listened well and asked some fantastic questions. Our visitors were so impressed! We also went to visit the bee hives. Next week we will continue writing some more chapters for our books.

We loved taking part in the skip-a-thon yesterday. Thank you so much for your sponsor money. We have already raised a fantastic amount for the British Heart Foundation; please send in any extra money next week.

We have also started to learn how to train like a jedi as part of the change for life campaign.

Learning to train like a Jedi – how much cooler can one school get.

Jack’s had a fantastic week he was (pardon the pun) buzzing about Nicole coming into school. He also loved the skip-a-thon and I am so proud of how much he achieved. Well done to all the children
