Bog Babies in Year 2

Friday 22nd June | 2 comments

In art, the children have had a great time making bog babies out of clay and then decorating them using natural materials found in our grounds.  The results were fantastic.

They then designed and made a special shelter for their bog baby.  The children learnt how to make different structures and then had to use different types of joins to fix the structure together.

In English this week, we have produced some fantastic writing based on the book ‘Superworm’ by Julia Donaldson. We wrote a book review and a character description. After our trip, we wrote a recount of our day.

In maths, we have been reading and interpreting tally charts and bar graphs. We then collected our own data about favourite minibeasts using a tally and made our own bar graphs too.

Jack loved his bog baby habitat. It’s taken pride of place in our new kitchen.

  2. Amanda (Daniels mum) says:

Daniel was very pleased with his bog baby and is very proud of it. He has decided it is now a dragon though!
