Numberetti! What’s the biggest number you can make?

Wednesday 22nd May | 2 comments

What a brilliant team challenge! Each team had a tin of ‘Numberetti’ and the challenge to find the total of the pasta digits in their tin. We discussed how to do the challenge and decided to sort the pasta first. Each team worked quickly and the pasta was sorted, grouped into 5’s and then counted. With the information recorded the teams worked in pairs to make block graphs and one pair in each team began the calculations. We remembered that zero multiplied by any number equalled zero, so that was an easy sum, but other calculations we much trickier! Finally we found out that the Fantastic Friend’s tin had the biggest total – 1074!

We then looked at this You tube video and found out a different way to solve the problem!
