It has been a lovely week in Year 2!
Today we have spent the morning learning about Remembrance Day. We have found out more about why we wear poppies, how our school used to be a WW1 airfield and why 2018 is a particularly important year.
We made poppies and poppy pictures, illustrated a commemorative poem and made celery biplanes.
In maths this week, we have been learning strategies for adding and subtracting 2 digit numbers.
We have used base 10 to partition each number into tens and ones then recombine to find the total.
In English this week, we have been exploring right choice words in fireworks poems. Children have read, performed and written their own poetry.
2LO enjoyed their first of three sessions at Gym Magic this week. We will post some photos next week!
Reminders for next week:
Next Friday is our Children in Need fundraising day organised be the school council. Don’t forget to dress up in your best rockstar (or party) clothes!
2Lo need to come to school in PE kits on Tuesday ready for their second session at Gym Magic.
