We have had another busy week in Year 2.

In English this week we have been reading, performing and writing poetry. We have looked at rhyme, alliteration and have focused on choosing adjectives and verbs for effect. We wrote our own poems, edited and improved them and copied them up in our neatest handwriting.

We had great fun on Tuesday with All Stars cricket. We practised throwing and catching and learned some new games.

In topic this week, we used maps and our imaginations to travel to Africa. We found out lots of amazing facts.

In special mention assembly this week, some children were presented with special certificates and prizes from Mrs Kenny.

These children have been working hard in maths following the 1st class@number programme.

These children have made terrific progress with their reading.

A big thank you to Mrs Kenny for her hard work, time and encouragement.

2La met with their reading buddies this week. 4K came to show us their pop up books about vertebrates. We enjoyed looking at these and showed them some of our work too.
