This week in 2F
Sunday 12th July | 2 comments
It’s been another very busy week in 2F. The children have enjoyed a visit to their new classroom and also welcomed a group of visiting Head Teachers to our class and school. The Head Teachers from Buckinghamshire had come to find out about Growth Mindsets, so in the morning they spent time in 2F and 6W playing a Growth Mindset Game and then later in the day they joined 2F for a PE lesson with Mrs Loveridge. On Friday we all thoroughly enjoyed watching the dress rehearsal of the Year 6 performance.
In between all these special events we have been busy learning about how chocolate and bread get to our shops. On Monday we visit a farm near Goole and we will find out even more about the important role farms play in providing us all with food. In Maths we have continued to work on problem solving and reasoning. The children have also enjoyed trying a different Maths game called Mangahigh and they have completed a range of tasks which I have set for them. We are taking part in a challenge with other schools and if your child achieves 100 points on Mangahigh they will receive a medal in the post!
Below are our Mathletics Celebrations – 2 Second Gold Awards, a first Gold Award and our Mathlete of the week. Well done to you all.
Here are the ‘Readers of the Week’ and this week’s three Special Mentions. Well done to these children for all their hard work and effort.
Reports will go out soon. Here is a word cloud of the contents of the reports.
On Monday, we are off to Goole to the farm. Don’t forget to bring outdoor shoes. The doors will open earlier on Monday and we will be back in school for 4.00pm.
Tuesday, at 4.30pm is the Transition Meeting in the South Hall. All families are welcome and we will be doing a tour of the South Building.
Wednesday, at 2.00pm we have a special picnic. We have been invited to join Year 3 for a picnic over at KS2.
