This week in Year 2 we have been learning all about how animals survive in winter.  The children learnt about hibernation, migration and adaptation.  The children read reports and made notes.  They then wrote their own non-fiction report.

This week in Maths, we have been focussing on multiplication. We looked at the relationship between multiplication and repeated addition and then moved onto learning about arrays.

You could play this game at home:

We also started our DT sewing project, designing a polar animal hanging decoration. Some children have already started to make theirs. Look out for these wonderful creations coming home in a few weeks!

Our Christmas Performance singing is already sounding fabulous and we aim to start practising the acting next week. We have enough speaking parts for everyone in Year 2, either as narrators or characters in the play. We would like your help in learning lines; practising speaking clearly, loudly and with expression. The scripts will go home on Monday. Thank you in advance.

Erin was very excited to see her maths on show. She has also really enjoyed the sewing project after her grandma has been teaching her finger knitting.

Matilda is really looking forward to the sewing project and has told me she is a narrator in the school play this year.
