Trip to Blackhill Woods.

All KS1 went on two double decker buses to Blackhill Woods. We had a wonderful day out together. The children in 2F went on a walk with compasses and maps first and had to find a series of clues to help them eventually find some treasure. Then we spent some time looking for minibeasts. A variety of worms, beetles, ants, spiders and slugs were found! After that it was time for a rest and our picnic together.
In the afternoon the children enjoyed taking each other on a blindfold story walk. In pairs, one child wore a blindfold while the other child guided them along, holding on to a string tied between trees. As they walked they made up a story for the child with the blind fold to listen to. We had some amazing stories about dinosaurs, fairies, princesses and queens! Finally the children got to make some clay creatures and then designed homes for them.
It was a brilliant day!
