We have had another fantastic week in 2F!

In Literacy we have been reading the story ‘Come to school, Blue Kangaroo,’ by Emma Chichester Clarke. We learned about the characters and the settings and ordered the events in the story. Next week, don’t forget to bring in your own soft toys so that we can write our own stories based on this story!

In Maths we have been ordering numbers, showing the tens and units in a two digit number and using the more than and less than signs. We learned our Maths using kangaroo games.

We also read the story, ‘Camille and the Sunflowers,’ and thought about how Vincent van Gogh must have felt when people were unkind to him, just because he wanted to do something different. We talked about how everyone is unique and special. We then sketched and paint sunflowers and used lots of positive language when we worked together and then looked at each others work.

Learning Logs went home on Friday – please remember to do your best. I shall look forward to seeing your work. Well done, to everyone who got a Mathletics certificate, and especially to those who have worked hard to get some amazing scores. I shall keep looking at the scores over the weekend!
Enjoy the sunshine, but remember to make time to read, do Mathletics and start your Learning Log! From Mrs Fisher ☺
