We had a great day on Wednesday designing and making our own box of chocolates. The children enjoyed tasting ingredients, then designing and making their chocolates. They wrote menu cards to describe the chocolates they made and then designed and made a box for the chocolates to go in. We hope you enjoyed them at home!

Other activities this week:

We have taught the first 3 lessons of the RSE (Relationships and Sex Education) curriculum. Perhaps the children have been telling you the correct biological terms for male and female body parts? They were extremely sensible and grown up in these lessons.

We had our final rugby session with Joe from Leeds Rhinos. The children were great at the tumble pass they learned and loved playing the collecting treasure game.

In maths we have been learning all about capacity. Here we are exploring how much the containers hold. We have learned how to measure in millilitres and litres.

In English, we have been writing instructions. We finished the week with our own smoothie recipe. Maybe, you could make it at home? Here is Mrs Lace making a smoothie last year:

After half term

  • Next half term we are looking forward to learning all about minibeasts and habitats and especially our trip to Skelton Grange!
  • We are also looking forward to the Sam’s safari animal workshop.
  • We will complete some past SATs papers to inform our teacher assessments and pass on to Year 3. Please keep working through the SATs revision books we have sent home.
  • On Thursdays next half term we will be taking part in Chance to Shine cricket sessions. Children may come to school in PE kits on Thursdays.

Have a wonderful half term break. See you all on Tuesday 8th June.
