It will seem very strange to not be blogging about our fabulous week on Saturday mornings anymore… but I have a final post to do today!
Thank you to everyone for the kind cards and lovely presents given to me. Thank you for all the wonderful words; I will miss all the children, families and staff at Farsley Farfield. I will keep in touch and you may well find me commenting on blogs, now that I won’t be posting!
In the afternoon we enjoyed our Festive Fruity Fun party. Thank you to everyone for sending in such a delicious assortment of fruits for the children to use on their fruit kebabs.
After a brilliant party, we all went down to the hall for a Christmas sing a long and Santa came to see us! Back in class, we wished everyone a happy Christmas, and after a ‘strictly’ amazing day…. you can imagine what we all did!
Thank you again for all your kind words, cards and gifts. I wish you all a wonderful holiday, happy Christmas and a safe and happy New Year. Best wishes from Mrs Fisher 🙂

Yesterday all the children in Year 2 received a Christmas Maths LEGO puzzle.
The children had to build the trees and then they learned to play the game.
It is a simple 2 player game. Each player places 1 or 2 lights on the tree and the winner is the person who places the final light on top of the tree. The children had to work out the winning strategy!
Has your child challenged you to the game yet?
When you’ve mastered this challenge, could you draw a tree with more lights and see if you can work out the strategy to win that game too.
Happy Christmas to you all, and keep stretching your brain and challenging yourself in 2016! 🙂

We are very busy, but some of the things we have been doing are surprises!
You will find out more soon….
In Maths we have been busy working with fractions, folding shapes into halves and quarters, while also applying our knowledge of arrays and multiplication. The outcome of our work will become apparent soon!
We have also been busy doing some assessments and a special piece of independent writing about our own imaginary genie. The children drew some wonderful genies and then described them.
Please do come and see the KS1 Christmas Show.
Our performances are on Wednesday at 9.30am and on Thursday at 2.00pm
There will be a blog post with show photos, the programme and a special video on Tuesday.
The Year 2 Christmas Party is on Friday afternoon. As this week’s Ethos Statement is about making healthy choices, we are having a ‘festive fruity fun party!’
Your child has brought home a request for a donation of fruit, which the children will make into some very exciting fruit kebabs!
