A brilliant week in 2F.
Saturday 13th September | 10 comments
We have had another amazing week together in 2F. Details about our Maths and Literacy lessons are in the two previous posts, but so much more has been happening too!
On Friday we had our class Circle Time, when we reflect on how the week has gone, and together we have now chosen our teams, Team Leaders and Coaches. We have also allocated some important roles to children who will help to keep our class team running smoothly. Each Half Term different children will be chosen for these roles, so over the year everyone will get a chance to be a Team Leader or a Coach. The Team Leader ensures that their team are all being the best that they can be and the Coach has the important role of encouraging everyone to persevere with tricky challenges. Everyone in class has renewed their promise to not chat on the carpet or when they are working.
In ICT the children learned how to place a comment on a blog. Most of the children have written a comment about the book they are reading on our Extreme Reading page or on the 5Sentence Challenge page. Comments help to make our blog really special, so do please ask your child to show you how to place a comment and join us on our learning journey.
At the end of a really busy and exciting week the children have some Dojo time when they can choose what they would like to do. Many of the children used the laptops and played on Mathletics to make sure they got their weekly certificate, others played with the LEGO and the cars. I brought my ukulele tuner in to tune up the class ukuleles and some of the children began to learn how to hold the ukulele, strum and play the ‘c’ chord. There is going to be a Friday ‘Sing and Strum’ group after school soon!
Learning Logs have been sent home and the first task is to present the information they have learned about bees. The children can show their learning in the way that appeals to them most. They can do diagrams, pictures, write a list of facts or stick things into their log. The logs should be returned on Thursday 25th September. (The day after the training day)
This weeks Special Mention children were Heather for persevering with her Maths and Amelia for getting the most Dojo points during the week. Well done to both of you for being the best you can be.
