Happy New Year from Year 2!

Friday 6th January | 1 comment

Welcome back!  It was lovely to see all the children come back to school on Tuesday morning and hear their holiday news.

We have had a great start to the new year.  The children have been showing a great attitude to learning and have been particularly excited about our new topic, the 1960s.  In our time machine so far, we have found old money and toys from the 1960s.  I wonder what will appear next week?

In English, we have been looking at the features of non- fiction texts to help us learn more about the 1960s.

In maths, we have been busy learning all about division and the relationship between multiplication and division facts.         For example, using these three numbers make two multiplication and two division number sentences:

2, 5, 10

We can show the relationship of the three numbers using a calculation triangle:

You should have now received the following letters from school:

Moving Words Workshop

Year 2 Parents’ Workshop on assessment and expectations.

Happy New Year to Year 2! It sounds like you have learnt a lot already the calculation triangle looks quite tricky?
I hope you find something exciting in your time machine!
