What a marvellously scrumptious way to start the half term! We’re going to be finding out all about the author Roald Dahl and exploring one of his best selling books, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

Click on the links below to find out information about Roald Dahl.

We will be turning our classrooms in year 2 into a swishwifflingly, scrumdiddlyumptious learning environments! If you have any Roald Dahl books you could loan us for a few weeks or any empty chocolate or sweet boxes we could use, we would very much appreciate them.

In Maths we’ll be applying our skills to help us pretend we are shopping for goodies from Mr Wonka’s factory. Here’s a link to a game to help you practise adding up the costs, working out the change and finding the correct money.

I have enjoyed looking at the blog with my mummy.
I have been on the sweet shop game and did the collums out loud!
I have had to explain about colums as well.
Here is my last sum:

50 + 7 +
40 + 5

90 + 12 = £1.02

Well done, Nina. Did you tell your family about how you can work out change too? Thank you for your comment, I’m just busy planning more scrumdidilyumptious learning for us next week! From Mrs Fisher
