This week we have enjoyed reading and discussing the story ‘Supertato!’ The children have written some fantastic reviews of the story, using right choice adjectives to persuade. We used words such as humorous, hilarious, brilliant and fabulous!

We wrote character descriptions and used right choice adjectives to describe what Supertato looks like and what his personality is like. On Thursday afternoon, we decided to create our own super veggie or veggie villain by adding masks, capes and other accessories. This inspired us to write descriptions to match our new characters.

## Maths

We started our new topic on addition and subtraction this week. We have used our number bonds to 10 to find number bonds to 100. E.g If you know that 1 + 9 = 10 you also know that 10 + 90 = 100. We have also been learning other number bond facts and representing these using part whole models and bar models. Knowing number bond facts is really important as we apply these in lots of other contexts. Please learn number bonds to 10, 20 and multiples of 10 to 100.

## Farsley Heritage

In history this week we wanted to find out what Farsley was like when Florence Nightingale was alive.

First we looked at modern maps to see what Farsley is like today. We used tracing paper to draw on the main roads and significant places. We then looked at a map of Farsley from 1894. By placing our tracing paper on top, we could see what Farsley was like in Victorian times.

We then went on a walk around Farsley. We had some old photos of Farsley and stood in the same spots to look for similarities and differences.
