Skelton Grange and a quick update in 2H

Friday 27th March | 1 comment

We have had another wonderful trip outdoors at Skelton Grange. The children learnt all about different animals and plants. Below is a quick quiz for the children to complete to see what they have remembered.

1. What is an omnivore?

2. Why do plants have bright coloured petals?

3. Where to mini beasts like to live?

4. Is a human an animal? Why?

5. What was the name of the oldest tree at Skelton Grange? How old was it?

Can you spot…..

Can you remember any of the names of the creatures you found whilst pond dipping?

Can you name any of the flowers in the pictures?

Next week, we are going to be designing and making mini beast hotels. If the children have any mini beast hotels at home, please email me a picture and we can share these before we start designing our own. My email is [email protected].

In maths, we have been completing additions with 2 digit numbers and 3 digit numbers. We have been learning new strategies for additions. Most children have been drawing number lines which is fantastic! Some children have been completing column additions.

Have a good weekend and we’ll see you on Monday!

  1. Ellen(Rhy's mum) says:

Rhys enjoyed this trip. He wasn’t very happy that 2H rubbish from lunch weighed more than 2F though. He had also been listening hard as we have visited lotherton hall and in the woods it is abundant with garlic. Rhys recognised both the plant and the smell and impressed passers by with his knowledge!
